It is a part of our human nature to desire for things that we sometimes cannot have.  We always wanted to have an abundance of material things.  Good looks are sometimes on top of everything we always wanted.  Most of us are not satisfied with the way we look and often feel the need to have a gorgeous body, a flawless skin and well developed physique.  Every time you see a print model, don’t you crave to have a firmer breast, slimmer thighs, a flat stomach and a face of no lines and wrinkles?  We all do.  Exercises can help but would not satisfactorily help as attain our goals.  This is when cosmetic surgery becomes an option.

Before, cosmetic surgery is an expensive option that majority of people could not afford.  However, the demand for it and the advancement in technology made it available and inexpensive.  Anybody could almost visit a surgeon right away for consultations and referrals.

It is very interesting to know if cosmetic surgery will really improve one’s life.  Many doctors and surgeons have always asked this same question over and over again but never ever pushed the concept to their patients.  Almost everyday, it was proven that patients who have undergone minor and major cosmetic procedures will call and ask their doctors anything about their surgeries.  On consultations, surgeons do not promise that a procedure will change their lives.  In fact, surgeons get a bit nervous if that is the main reason why the patient wanted to undergo the procedure.  Bottom line is, cosmetic surgery can change one’s life but it can never guarantee a good marriage, job promotion or career advancement.  Most patients will ask how beautiful they will look after a procedure.  It is true that cosmetic surgeries can make you beautiful and young but it is always hard to quantify.  A plastic surgeon cannot say definitely that a patient will look 20 years younger if she will undergo several procedures.  That will be very hard to guarantee.  Cosmetic surgeries have their benefits but they also have their limits that every patient should know about.

There has been proven glow in most patients after having a successful facial rejuvenation therapies.  Most of these women have added pep and are more conscious about the clothes they wear and the make up they use.  They feel as if they have taken their car to the carwash. 

Cosmetic surgery can add to self confidence.  It can boost self esteem.  It can revolutionize one’s mood.  However, there is no guarantee that all patients will feel like this.  Some may even feel worried and unhappy with the results, but for the majority of patients, all are happy and satisfied.  The most rewarding thing for a cosmetic surgeon is to know that what he or she has done is improving one’s life.  A satisfied patient can even spread the good news about the surgeon’s skill. 

Miracles do not happen with the cosmetic procedures.  A positive outlook and a proper mindset are the keys for a happy and satisfied patient.
