The terms “plastic surgery” and “cosmetic surgery” were actually thought of by German surgeons. The former is derived from the Greek word “plastikos” meaning “to mould or shape” while the latter is derived from the Greek word “kosmesis” meaning “beauty.” At present, heaps of people are into breast augmentation/reduction, liposuction, facial surgery among others. According to the latest statistics, 31% of women and 20% of men are willing to consider cosmetic surgery for themselves today or in the near future. Likewise, 78% of women admit that they will not be embarrassed to let people other than those closest to them to know about their cosmetic surgery. What is more appealing is that even men and higher than 1% say that they will not be embarrassed about this as well.
