cosmetic surgery as defined

Cosmetic surgery as defined before is only concerned about the enhancement of appearance.  It is designed to improve cosmetics alone.  It is a wide knowledge that is attributed to dermatology, general surgery, otolaryngology, and maxiillofacial surgery.  Several cosmetic surgery procedures are now being done across the world.  Some of these procedures come with common names that many of us have encountered.  These are some of them.  Abdominoplasty, also known as “tummy tuck”, is a procedure to reshape and firm the abdomen. Blepharoplasty or “eyelid surgery” is reshaping of the eyelids.  Mammoplasty is further divided into breast augmentation or “breast enlargement”, breast reduction, and mastopexy or “breast liff.”  Buttock augmentation is enhancement of buttocks with implants. Chemical peel minimizes appearance of skin blemishes.  Labiaplasty is a procedure that reshapes the labia.  Rhinoplasty or “nose job” reshapes the nose. Otoplasty is for ear surgery.  Rhytidectomy, commonly known as “face lift” removes wrinkles and other signs of aging. Chin augmentation and cheek augmentation also are common procedures nowadays.  Male pectoral implants are also common.  This is done to enhance the size of chest of men.
